Back.... to work

Following Wednesday's walk-out, back to work as intended today. meeting with the agency 15 minutes after starting, who have apologised and promised this would be resolved. Well, lights were there for a start... so it was an immediate improvement.

Put out the word at work about the 9X/10X change (see yesterday's post). No-one else has noticed anything running out of time, apart from the change a few weeks ago (01 May 2005) !

As can be seen, I was on a 1000-1800 start this week. This gave me time to get home, get back out again, and downstairs to "The Bread" in time for (half an hour and a bit in to) our "team night out". Nikki from training had joined our team for the evening, as with a few other friends and partners. Total head count in the evening was at least fifteen, well up on past performance. The drinkers amongst us decided to go for four-pint jugs of Tennants at £5.95 a throw, which meant they had to learn an all-new skill - pouring without ending up with a glass full of head... to avoid sarky comments like "that's more head than I get in a week"... and "do you want a flake in that?" Our social organiser Graeme managed a new stunt with the newly replaced Millionaire machine when it gave him the wrong answer - quick thump to the touch screen, it goes into a cold reboot, then Graeme turns around and says "Aye, we'll just walk away now..." Stayed in the Bread until last orders i.e. 2245, and then proceeded to No. 1's for the karaoke. Graeme does "Hey Jude" once more, to the same high standard as last time, then buggers off to the cashpoint...and isn't seen again. Several of us go home at tgat point, and they are left with two groups of two for Fat Sam's and London nightclubs...
