Go West....

.... it's f*****g cold through there! Yes I meant Freezing, of course...

Well I had borrowed Graeme/Tails Advertures 2040's camera for evaluation, prior to replacement of my own. The Fuji A330 is a fairly "basic" camera against more high-end SLR's, I do not need a larger or bulkier camera, and the "zoom" feature meant I could comfortably stand on the other side of the road and "zoom" in, and not lose detail. There is a physical zoom, as well as a digital zoom, which gives back some of the flexibility I lost going digital. It's marginally longer than the other one - not by much - but narrower in width. I was rather impresed with the quality of most of them.

Trip to Glasgow on Saturday - from Dundee using Aberdeen-based Volvo Citybus 15260 127ASV. It still leaks just as badly as it did when it was at St Andrews... This did a through trip from Aberdeen to Glasgow, ex-Tube 58 did a dup from Dundee to Edinburgh for Dundee passengers. Passengers to Edinburgh from Aberdeen were transferred to 58 and a X-NSE Je at Broxden P&R.

In Glasgow, diversions as I am sure the locals know. Was former Aberdeen Olympian A110 FSA (on the 11's) ever branded for Service 11? I am sure I could make out the remnants of vinyl on the first nearside window...
Ailsa's: during daylight, spotted one on the 12 three times over,
31369 KGG 138Y at Renfield Street. Later in the day, more were seen.
Larkfield routes: 2 x 12, 1 x 23/23A, 1 x 47/48
Scotstoun routes: 2 x 9, 1 x 44
Caledonian Buses have a Dart or B6/Alexander Dash in an overall advertisment for Eastwood/Mearns Taxis, L841 CDG
[pic1] [pic2] Turns out the bus was new to Stagecoach Cheltenham & Gloucester.
Also caught up with one of the two Glasgow Citybus two DAF/Wright Cadets - the one I got was the 03 plate
Did an afternoon trip on the City Tour with RML2677.
The script was very jovial, and this included the guide hoping that
two Routemasters had not broken down near Kelvingrove! (pic taken from the back of RML2677)
He was somewhat relived to see they were both on a hire.
After the tour, had a run to Paisley on the 9. Totally co-incidentlly, the first bus I went for was former Ailsa A114 - now 31216.
Slightly shaky picture but remember this was taken after it was getting dark!

On the way back from Paisley, hung back at Paisley X realising what would be around on the 9 soon enough - and it was... A114 was then taken from Paisley to Partick Bus Station, before walking round to Dumbarton Road (at the railway bridge) for the 90, which was taken back to Shawlands the long way round. I asked on the
Scotlandbus group, and I was advised why this timing point is shown as Partick Merkland Street is that is a histroical thing - remember there used to be a Subway/Underground station there?

After this, a VO on the 38A back to the city, before heading back at 2150 on the 2nd last M9 of the night to Dundee. This pic was taken at Yeaman Shore just before midnight!
