First boss gets down with the passengers...

Someone left behind a copy of the Scottish edition of the Metro on this morning's 76 to work. Bearing in mind these are more circulated around the Central belt commuting area, I rarely see one, so decided to give it a go - a change from the usual DC T. brainwashings and regurtitated political press releases! Anyway, reason for mentioning this was it made interesting reading to find the head of First ScotRail getting left behind when she alighted the train to see the delay... the Daily Record have this online, unlike the Metro, and I've added the text below too.
THE TRAIN LEAVING PLATFORM 4..HAS LEFT BOSS BEHIND

Rail chief stranded as she investigates delay
By Stuart Nicolson
FIRST Scotrail's new boss jumped off a train to ask why it had been delayed - only to be left stranded when it pulled away without her.
Managing director Mary Dickson was travelling on the shuttle from Edinburgh to Glasgow when it stopped at Haymarket station's platform 4 without explanation.
She immediately went in search of the conductor to find out what was causing the hold-up. But seconds after she stepped off, the train's engines roared back into life as it headed off down the track.
The conductor yelled out after spotting her to ask: 'Shall I stop the train?'
But an embarrassed Dickson, 34, shouted back: 'Not even for the boss!'
Because her coat and handbag were still aboard, she was left shivering in only a sleeveless dress while waiting for the next train.
Yesterday, a First Scotrail source said Dickson had later laughed off the incident.
The insider added: 'There have been wisecracks flying around the office, but Mary takes them in good spirits.
'She even recounted the story at an Institute of Directors lunch on Monday, which shows what a good sport she is.
'Mary wasn't happy that the passengers on her train hadn't been told what was causing the delay.
'She decided to find out for herself so she could give them an explanation.
'She thought the conductor was on the platform and leapt off the train to speak to him. Unfortunately, he was still on board and the train left.'...
There are various alternatives on this story, which I will not go into! Suffice to say, it's just as well she wasn't waiting on a First bus at Haymarket, she may well have taken hypothermia waiting in an outfit like that, based on the weather today...
