Ken's found another hole...

One of this week's press releases from TfL (Transport for London) relates to the long running project to include Wembley Park station. This one is perhaps not quite the closest to the stadium and arena - the one on the Chiltern Railways line seems slightly closer to me - but it can handle the main bulk of the traffic on the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines, as well as being an interchange point between fast, semi-fast, semi-sort-of-not-stopping-fast, and all stops trains. As if you needed to know that...

The press release on the subject of the work shows a picture of Red Ken, and aptly enough, David Seaman - the latter of course got chipped with a very opportunistic lob in a foriegn match for Arsenal once - or was it England? Anyway,

"
Mayor of London Ken Livingstone said: 'Wembley Park gives London a world-class station to serve a world-class sporting venue and provides local residents in Brent with a substantially improved transport link, coming just weeks after the addition of an extra carriage on every Jubilee Line train.

'The station has been delivered on time and on budget by Transport for London."

i.e. unlike the stadium.
