Review Of The Year - Rest Of Suzy's Life Style
This is everything else I got up to in 2006 - well, the main bits!January 2006
- My woes continue into the New Year, as the (Seagate) hard drive goes up In smoke.
- Mum wanted to meet on my birthday, but then made it seem like she didn't.
- I go for a Friday morning shopping trip to London (£1 round trip cost!), and hand in the hard drive for analysis.
- I start experimenting with Linux.
- Hard drive still under analysis, complaint vs, BT still "in progress", and work extended until further notice, again
- RIP Suzy's (Seagate) Hard Drive - 2003-2006
- This was meant to be the last day of the campaign at work, but it's extended...
- My first trip to Newcastle for eight years, results in a major problem when the driver gets lost.
- One day after my driver gets lost in Newcastle, the same happens to the West End Poet.
- Steve In The City was born, as Mr Parker gets the chance to deliver a Daimler from Dyce to London.
- A 1,278 mile round trip in a day and a half, takes me to London, Brighton, and Portsmouth.
- While our jobs are still in limbo, BT decides we could do with some sweeties.
- Friend of mine tries to flog his BT chocolates on eBay (and fails).
- Complaint vs. BT (over being double-charged for phone calls, incorrect charging of certain items, and not updating my details properly) appears to be won!
- Caledonian Railway Sulzerfest also gives me the chance to ride on the bus I got back from my (current) job interview.
- Broadband finally goes live - shortly before it was due to.
- One Big Weekend comes to Dundee - or, M In The Park as it was cruely dubbed...
- As our jobs are beginning to look safe, I consider applying for Operations Manager.
- To keep my options open, I also apply for another job.
- I decide that I hate my work - again - over changes to shifts and payments for bank holidays.
- I actually got an interview (my first since transition!) - in Fife (didn't get the job in the end).
- I go on holiday for a few days, to visit David & Jacqueline in Barnsley.
- Return back from Barnsley to Dundee, via central Sheffield.
- I put in for another permanent - full time this time - job (which ended up not happening for many reasons), but I also start "mystery shopping".
- DCC finally places a permanent bus stop at the end of road near my work, more than 11 years after buses started using the road.
August 2006
- I finally get the chance to go walkabout around some parts of Perth that I'd passed so often.
- My sister gets her results from genetics.
- I pick up a viral infection...
- ... and two days later, I end up at the out-of-hours docs...
- I go back to work, and get asked if I am really well enough to return...
- ... but two days later, I break down at work, and end up leaving after only a few hours.
November 2006
- A good Friday, including Lisa & Chris's Halloween party.
- Arrange to visit the states in a few years, to see the person who's helped me so much of late!
- I go for a Dundee - Edinburgh - Manchester - Dundee megadaytrip, heading down by train, and back by coach.
- I thought I'd had a busy three weeks. Yes, I didn't know what was to come, did I ?
- I look back on my November, and wonder what's going to happen next...
- My dad takes a seizure, and mum tries (and almost succeeds) in making me feel miserable about it.
- In the same evening, I visit [edit] for the first time.
- My third year of working on the Dundee City Christmas & New Year bus timetable guide.
- [edit] sweeps me off my feet!
- Steve In The City - Again, and this time, he's got a BMW...
- After an unfortunate string of bad times, [edit] wants some time to clear her head.
- My last day of work for 2006 reveals a "time capsule" amongst others...
